John Shook

General Manager

John Shook has served as General Manager for Nordby Wine Caves since 2002. With more than 20 years of experience in the mining industry, his extensive scope of knowledge and level of expertise has proven invaluable to Nordby Wine Caves.

John has personally overseen the successful completion of nearly a dozen wine caves ranging from 1,500 to 18,000 square feet. His hands-on approach and thorough attention to detail help ensure a seamless transition through each phase of construction.

Underground construction is always unpredictable and complications are bound to arise. What others may perceive as technological or structural challenges, John sees as a unique opportunity to find a creative solution.

A licensed Professional Engineer, certified Mine Foreman, and published author, John earned a B.S. in Mining Engineering from the Montana School of Mines in Butte, Montana, and an M.B.A. from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.
