Nordby Wine caves is currently expanding the existing cave complex for Alexander Valley Vineyards. Approximately 13,000 square feet of additional barrel storage will be nestled into the existing hillside. We spent 6 months procuring the use permit for expansion, the grading permit for placing cave spoils on the property, and all building permits necessary for construction. Tunneling will commence in late September and extend into spring 2008. The tunnels will range in size from 13 feet wide and 10 feet high, to over 16 feet wide by 16 feet high.
Nordby Wine Caves is performing all grading and site work, as well as constructing all retaining wall structures. In conjunction and support of tunnel excavation and support, we are also performing all grading and erosion control as part of this work.
